Todd Architectural Models has designed the fourth in a series of historic warehouse buildings as an O Scale model. The Paterson Mill- Art Factory building model was recreated from site photographs and historic architectual drawing documentation. The building is the focal point of a massive manufacturing facility in Paterson, NJ that has recently been repurposed as the Art Factory.
The building is quite large and is modeled at O scale in three pieces. The overall shadowbox lenght is 27-1/2" and the height varies from 16-1/2" at the eave to 17-1/2" at the peak. The nominal depth of the shadowbox is 1-1/8" and the center section is offset 1/16" outwards from the two side sections.
This 3-piece model features laser scored and cut elevation, brownstone, quoins, window and door elements, and built-up laser scored/cut or styrene cornice detail. Each basic elevation piece, on the left and right sides, measures 6-3/4" long. The center section measures 14" long. Each shadow box is constructed of laser scored and cut acrylic plastic, and Taskboard, and is professionally finished to be individually unique. Windows are fabricated using two layers of laser cut Lazerboard for sashes and frames. Glazing is your choice of .006” clear, translucent acetate or Rosclux Grey. .
The shadowbox is offered unlit or lit. If you select the Roscolux Grey glazing, it will appear clear when lit from behind. We offer the option of a second glazing layer, the translucent material, behind the Rosclux Grey to create a warm white glow.
The rear panel of the shadowbox is removable to allow for the addition of LED lighting. Each story of each of the three sections has individual floors and ceilings, providing for a total of twelve isolated lighting areas. The ceilings each have cut-outs for the placement of 5050 LED lights. The ceilings and floors have square holes that allow wires to pass through.
If you prefer a prelit model, we offer the shadowbox lit with strip LED’s in the ceiling of each level, all with individual leads.
